Last week was pretty crazy for me
newsletter-wise
So many of you guys wrote in saying that last week's email made you cackle + compliment my writing (omg?)
It's a high to be appreciated, and I took that elevator all the way up.
Sharing extra feedback on Shyla's content, because I'm a *writer* now 💅🏼
Shyla: please stop
Me: but Cassie said I'm a funny writer
Shyla: we are not naming our bookeeping excel 'Moolah Manager'
The grind never stops for creatives, and now it's time to plan next week's blockbuster email.
But before I begin to write, I check the last email's stats on Convertkit (as any self-respecting email marketer should)
Guess what's on the dashboard..
Last week's email had the HIGHEST unsubscribe rate EVER.
horror. shock. shock. horror. crying(?)
Let me set the scene:
Shyla is wrangling my laptop out of my hands before I send desperate messages to those who unsubscribed, begging to know why they hate me.
It's difficult dealing with rejection.
But honestly? After sitting with my feelings a little bit, I realize it's a good thing.
Now, stick with me here; I know that not everybody wants to hear about my sibling rivalry or even the Pinterest/Email/Social Media tips I take time to curate.
And that's just fine!
This whole process made it so clear to me that these unsubs are possibly a REALLY GOOD THING.
It made it clear who Our People are. Literally, nothing is more valuable than that.
And I appreciate each and every one of you who stayed on here.

I wish I could say that this will be the last time I overreact to 5 (yes, it was 5) unsubscribes, but I know Shyla has a lot more wrangling & prying in her future.

But keep reading to see why I think everyone should find their People and how filtering your audience is actually good for business👇🏽
