How to make a micromovement

An all-or-nothing mindset sounds glamorous and romantic.

Until you realize you’ve chosen nothing for three weeks straight.

I should floss → I’m too tired → It’s not like my teeth will fall out if I don’t floss for one night.

When it should be

I should floss → I’m too tired → Fine, I’ll just do the teeth in front.

Now, at least the teeth people can see are clean and healthy.

But I was always horrible at this.

Rolling my eyes when people said 10 minutes on the treadmill counts as a workout. Sure, I guess, if your goal is to mildly inconvenience your calves 👀

Allowing myself to feel superior, when I was sitting there, skipping exercise for weeks, thinking what good would a 10-minute stretch do anyway?

And don’t get me started on to-do lists. At the slightest inconvenience (like feeling sleepy), I’d mentally throw the entire day into a fire and reschedule my productivity for next Monday.

All or nothing only gets you a whole bunch of nothing.

You know who probably had an all-or-nothing mindset? The woman who had to have 27 contact lenses removed from her eye. I bet she said to herself every night, “It’s too late now anyway, I’ll just take it out tomorrow.”

All-or-nothing completely disregards the impact of small habits that add up. The impact of baby steps, the significance of micromovements.

Today is a micromovement for me, one of those creative sludge days where ideas are lodged somewhere like lost contact lenses behind my eyeball
(They’d probably be green & gross too if I tried to pull them out)

But today, all or nothing doesn’t win– I don’t have my usual all to give, but I still want to show up (in a medically sound manner)

You know where else micromovements work?

Tiny habits on Pinterest = huge long-term wins

Pinterest feels intimidating because we believe it requires enormous amounts of time and effort.

But Pinterest is the only platform on which effort compounds.

One small microeffort today can make ripples of impact for years on your business.

Here are 3 Pinterest micromovements to try today:

  1. Post 1 pin

That’s it. Just post one pin today, or even just one pin for the week. If you have 10 minutes to spare, go to Canva and make one pin and publish it.

2. Edit 1 Board Description

If you’ve already posted a pin, go to your boards and check for any that don’t have a description. If you find one, write a 45-50 word description for that board. Bonus points if you add relevant keywords from the Pinterest search bar.

3. Re-post a Video

Posted a pin and edited a board description? Then, if you make any video content, download a high-quality version of the video and upload it onto Pinterest. Videos, as of late, are showing immediate(ish) results on the platform.

None of these 3 steps take more than 10-20 minutes. If you collect all 3 micromovements and try to do them every day, you’re going to have a completely different Pinterest presence in 6 months.

But let’s be real—consistency is the hardest part.

You need visibility on Pinterest without worrying about your account gathering digital dust again.

Which is why I’m so freaking excited to introduce our new pin plan that’s coming real soon.

Made especially for those bloggers and creators who don’t have a significant Pinterest presence (yet), but are dying to get there (soon), without having to fork over a whole load (of cash).

I got you.

This is going to be a done-for-you ritual for your Pinterest account. It’s consistency and momentum, wrapped in pretty paper with a bow on it.

If this sounds like something you need, get on the waitlist, very, very few spots (I’m talking less than 5), and the waitlist (click to get added) gets first dibs!

P.S. This is a budget option, suited for those looking to get momentum. Our standard Pinterest packages are still your best bet for bigger accounts looking to grow.
